APOLLO '17 - "HOUSING, WE (STILL) HAVE A PROBLEM"

APOLLO '17 - "HOUSING, WE (STILL) HAVE A PROBLEM!"

I can't fault anyone who steps forward to make a difference, although I don't always agree with certain strategies (and who am I to know better, right?) ...
...but...
I can't see how anyone expects to actually make a difference who engages with the system..!!?!?

The system is the problem ... right?
It's broken ... right?
It works for a tiny minority at the expense of the majority...right?
It's 100 years old and institutionalized in a permanent unelected civil service, elitist judiciary and a political body heavily weighted by bogmen and gobshites...right?

How do you expect to INFLUENCE it?
How do you expect to CHANGE it?
By what means?
In what time frame?

It's not the players that's the problem ... it's the game.

You can change the players but you can;t change the game because the permanent civil service, elite judiciary and biased media are not answerable to any pleb-elected politician.

Direct Democracy will never happen. Do you think you can elect a majority of politicians who will agree to hand the public the arbitrary ability to sack them...?

The govt doesn't even have autonomy over legislation ... it bows to the dictats of Brussels and Frankfurt. How do you influence those unelected bureaucrats??

Crises and issues like homelessness will NEVER be improved ... they just get kicked down the road, to the next cabinet reshuffle when the incumbent government shuffle the deck chairs to hang on until the next general election, when they have a treasure chest of promises to make to the voters. Solve the health crisis, housing crisis, unemployment, wealth imbalance etc etc and what will they have to make promises about?

Ask a politician how to solve a crisis like the hospital crisis and they'll give you a list of 101 things they CAN'T do for various reasons but they'll never come up with a single simple, concrete proposal to address even one aspect of it.

So you want to form a major popular political movement to go into Dáil Eireann and change legislation?

Good luck with that ... cos likely you;re not a professor in Constitutional or Statutory Law so like all the other farmer, builder, teacher TDs in the Dáil (and yes...even the Solicitors and Barristers!!!), you are straightaway constrained by the procedures and protocols of the government Departments, Dept Secretaries and Mandarins ... all closely shepherded by their EU handlers and lobbyists, as well as the Attorney General ... the Judiciary's Man On the Inside...who will explain in mind-boggling legalese why you CAN'T do exactly what you want just because you;re in government.

So if you can't influence or change the system, what do you do?

Stop engaging with it for a start.

Stop playing ITS game. Stop obeying ITS rules. Stop allowing it to set the agenda and control the narrative.

That leaves two options:
BLOW IT UP or WALK AWAY.

Nobody wants blood on the streets ... it wouldn't work anyway cos the State would just call in the EU Special Forces and snuff out any such effort.

So ... WALK AWAY.

That's what #HomeSweetHome did !!! In the beginning.

They said "Fuck This! The government aren't doing ANYTHING! The State agencies aren't doing ENOUGH! We need to forget them and GO AND DO IT OURSELVES."

That's what they did ... with no regard or "by your leave" to the State.

Until they showed up in court ... and agreed to play by the SYSTEM'S rules ... and hand control of the issue back to the State.

I am not knocking the effort or the action in the slightest ... doing something is 100% better than doing nothing... but I was disappointed that the initial court ruling of a stay until Jan 11th was conceded with no objection.

Why was 3 weeks accepted?
Why not demand 3 months? 6 months?
Why even engage with the courts?

I think the HSH were steered down a dead end, quite skilfully. The initial illegal .. BUT ABSOLUTELY MORAL, RIGHT and NOBLE action of seizing the building always faced a no-win scenario in the courts.

We've seen two years and more of courts FUCKING FAMILIES WITH YOUNG KIDS OUT ONTO THE STREETS ... what did anyone think the courts were going to do with Apollo House?!
Suddenly find a conscience? The courts have no conscience ... they do not make rulings based on conscience, morality, compassion, common sense, humanity or any sense of right and wrong. Anyone who has been to court knows there is no such thing as justice (outside criminal courts...and even then it depends on your postal code). There is only WINNERS and LOSERS.

It's a contest! You have to WIN your case ... based on your argument. You can be in the right and still lose if you can't argue as well as your opponent.

In Ireland Property Rights exist ... Human Rights DON'T!

There is NO protection for human rights in the Constitution ... but there are ROOM FULLS of legislation and case law on PROPERTY rights ... This is Ireland ... have you still not realised that property rights trump non-existent human rights every day ... just ask families with babies that were fucked out onto the street by our own judges.

And that's the reality of the System, the State, the Constitution, Government Policy and Priority, The Corporate Fascist agenda...

The State gave €67 BILLION to FOREIGN banks and bondholders and the Troika, shackling at least two generations of us to debt slavery and hurling so many of us below the poverty line that we are literally experiencing famine deprivation ... hunger, homeless, evictions, emigration, food banks, dependency on failing public services etc etc.

Why would they suddenly find their humanity for homeless people ... who don't pay taxes and by extension, don;t contribute to the Oireachtas Pension Fund.

So HSH should have continued with their original position: "FUCK YOU ... YOU'VE DONE NOTHING BUT TERRORISE, DEMONIZE, CRIMINALIZE, EXTORT, EVICT, STARVE, IMPOVERISH, ABANDON AND BETRAY THE PEOPLE OF IRELAND ... WELL WE'RE GONNA FIGHT FOR THEM! KEEP YOUR CORRUPT COMMERCIAL COURTS ... THE PEOPLE ARE TAKING OVER!"

A stand off with the State would have achieved VASTLY more exposure for the issue ... POSITIVE exposure ... the State v the People ... the State abandoning its responsibilities and obligations to the most vulnerable and needy in its care...

The action was a proud stand ... the 'surrender' (harsh perhaps) was an ignominious capitulation to the merciless power of the State.

WALKING AWAY ... IT'S THE ONLY WAY.

IT'S EXACTLY WHAT A FEW HUNDRED MEN AND WOMEN DID IN 1916 ... or have you forgotten already?

They walked away from the ruling British Empire ... and declared a NEW, FREE, SOVEREIGN, INDEPENDENT STATE called Éire...

Yes, they were beaten and it was their executions that resulted in an eventual break from the Crown ... but that doesn't change the fact that what they did was DECLARE THEMSELVES FREE.

We should declare ourselves free of this foreign-controlled, corrupt, crony, corporate fascist tyranny that has masterminded the theft of our country .. its land and resources ... and START AGAIN ...

Of course you think I'm mad.

Would Pearse, Connolly or Plunkett think that too?

#FuckTheFreeState #fuckEU #DeRegisterNow and let's take the country back.

The Nation cannot rise until the State falls.

How do you scare a politician?
Tell him his pension fund is gone.

They have held us to ransom for long enough.
We can do the same to them:
Stop ALL State charges, taxes, fees, licenses, levies, fines, orders, utilities and all other extortion that gets siphoned off to consultants, expenses and undeserved pensions or wasted and squandered on crony projects like Irish Water. etc.

You could always go old school ... GENERAL STRIKE. That's what Connolly would do...I don't hear any Unions talking that talk. Obviously Croke Park and Haddington Road are working nicely for some...and allowing the State to dictate!

Of course you could just wait until 2021 and find a candidate worth voting for who might just get in ... but good luck with that.
